Traveling is not a cheap hobby, so it’s important to try and save money wherever you can. Some touristy attractions that everyone seems to be hyping up usually aren’t worth the money, and these five fall under that category.
Guided Tours
Guided tours are a great way to learn a lot about a new city in a short period of time, but you don’t have to pay a fortune to do this. Try to search for free tours or do your own research and be your own guide.
Cable Cars
There’s something incredibly scenic about cable car journeys, but covering the distance on foot or taking a bus to the spot they’re taking you to will be much cheaper.
Interactive Museums
Interactive museums seem to be everywhere these days, but they’re mostly a gimmick. Museums themed around art, history, and culture are a better option if you want to learn more about your destination.
Fancy Restaurants
You don’t have to dine out at fancy restaurants to enjoy the culinary scene of a new country. Visiting cheaper places where the locals eat and trying street foods is just as tasty and a more authentic option.
Observation Decks
Observation decks are not without their perks, but they’re not the only way to get breathtaking views. If your budget is limited, try to search for other places with scenic views that can be visited for free or for a fraction of the price.
