Dairy Queen Celebrates Opening Day With A Brand-New Blizzard

on

For the first time in 50 years, all 30 Major League Baseball teams are playing on opening day, which falls on March 29 this year. To celebrate, Dairy Queen is releasing a new, limited-edition Blizzard inspired by all of your favorite ballpark flavors. The Triple Play Blizzard mixes vanilla soft serve with classic ballpark snacks, like caramel-coated peanuts, caramel popcorn brittle, and chocolate chunks.

Then the whole thing is topped with pretzel rods and chocolate-drizzled caramel popcorn. Now that sounds like a treat! “Our Blizzard Treat innovation team has combined sweet and savory tastes that will bring back memories of baseball and ballparks, whether you still play, played as kid or tagged along as a younger or older sibling to practices and games. That’s something almost all of us can relate to,” said Maria Hokanson, Executive Vice President of Marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation.

The only catch to this delicious treat is that it’s not every Dairy Queen store is participating. It will only be introduced to only one store in the 15 cities where hometown games are being played on opening day. Sorry to those states that won’t be playing home on opening day! Treats, which are sold in only the small size for around $3.99, are only available while supplies last. The company predicts the blizzards will be around for only a day, maybe two.

If you miss out, you could probably find some fraction of the enjoyment by getting a Blizzard and dumping a Cracker Jack bag on top.
