If you’re looking for a fun and interesting snack, look no further than the Dunkin’ Donuts menu, for they are testing out something they’re calling “donut fries” right now. Of course, the trial comes in convenient proximity to Taco Bell taking their nacho fries off the menu, so this will help to fill the void of missing those. Dunkin’ doughnuttified their version of the fries by dusting them with cinnamon and sugar.
This tasty treat is a part of a new “Gotta Have $2 Snacks” menu, which also includes Munchkins you dip into chocolate sauce, waffle-breaded chicken tenders, Munchkin-shaped “pretzel bites” that come with honey mustard, gluten-free brownies, and ham-and-cheese rollups.
A Dunkin’ Donut spokesperson said, “The snacking menu features several new sweet and savory items that pair perfectly with Dunkin’ Donuts’ signature beverages and are ideal for an energizing afternoon break,” but we’re thinking it actually instead may put you in a sugar coma.
Dunkin’s reps tell local media that the fries and other snacks are only available at “a small number” of Boston stores for now, so make sure to get your hands on some ASAP. However, the franchise added that they’re eyeing a “possible national rollout,” but wanted customers and franchisees feedback first.
After testing them for about a month, the feedback on social media appears to be mostly positive, calling them “delicious” and “amazing.” One social media user said, “Dunkin’ Donuts needs to bring these to every coffee shop,” on Instagram. “Donut Fries are amazing!” So, hopefully that means Dunkin’ Donuts will start rolling them out to more stores in the near future.
