on

Been to Israel and can’t let go of your love affair with its mouth-watering street food or fresh vegetables from the shuk? Feeling like your life is lacking a perfect bowl of hummus? Or maybe you are looking to try some cuisine from a different corner of the world? Give it a shot and visit the delicious Dizengoff NYC, an authentic Israeli-style hummus stall located in Chelsea Market of NYC.

Chelsea Market is one of the greatest indoor food markets in the world, attracting over six million national and international visitors each year. The establishment was founded by Israeli-born and Pennsylvania-raised Michael Solomonov, who moved to Israel at age 18 without any experience in the Hebrew language. After taking a job at a bakery in Israel, his career in the culinary world began.

Named for one of the most famous streets and shopping areas in Tel Aviv, Israel, the stall has all of the staples you would find in the country itself: pita, fresh hummus with toppings like tahini, spiced meat, chickpeas, and herbs. Of course, any Israeli food experience wouldn’t be complete without some crunchy and tangy side salads, including Israeli pickles.

You’ll also find shakshuka and sabich sandwiches. An amazing feature of this restaurant stand is that you don’t even need meat to enjoy the rich flavors- the majority of the menu is vegetarian or vegan. Prices range from around $10-$15, but the food and service are worth the buck-Trip Advisor users gave it a 4.5/5 rating.
