Leah Shoup always dreamed of traveling the world, and she decided to make it happen. She went through many ups and downs on her quest to become a full-time traveler, and she’s sharing her adventures from every corner of the globe on her blog Gringa Journeys.
After getting her B.A. in Spanish and an M.A. in interpreting and translation, Shoup decided to start a new life in Chile in 2014. She spent the next two years traveling all around South America and working as an academic translator before a family tragedy brought her back home.
Shoup moved back to Atlanta to be closer to her family after her father had surgery to remove a malignant brain tumor. She kept exploring her love for travel by working on her blog full-time, and that’s how Gringa Journeys was born.
It’s been almost a decade since, and we’ve seen Shoup visit many new places over the years, and she’s using her platform to encourage other people to explore the world.
“I also believe that travel is essential to learning openness and that everyone should travel for this reason. Therefore, I hope to inspire you not only to see the world but also to expand your knowledge and to keep an open mind,” she writes on her official website.
