The earth has some unbelievable features. From its mountains and deserts to its rivers and oceans, there are some stunning landscapes that offer incredible habitats for the diverse species of the planet. These places are also fascinating for people to visit to take in the jaw-dropping beauty. Some of the most impressive ecosystems of our world are tropical rainforests, so if you have the chance then here are three phenomenal ones to visit.

The Amazon Rainforest, South America

The largest rainforest in the world by a long way, and by far the best known. This huge expanse of dense forest is home to some fascinating creatures and plants, as well as communities of indigenous people. The mind-blowing and enormous Amazon River runs through it, offering a home to river dolphins, sharks, snakes, and giant otters.

The Congo Rainforest, Africa

This is the second largest rainforest on the planet and is based around the Congo Basin in central Africa. There are some truly wonderful animals living in these luscious forests, including great apes, forest elephants, leopards, and okapi.

The Daintree Rainforest, Australia

This green area is found on the northeast coast of Queensland in Australia. It’s the largest rainforest in Australia and is thought to be the oldest in the world at over 135 million years old. It’s home to an incredible range of wildlife, many of which aren’t found anywhere else in the world.

The Amazon rainforest is one of the most special places on Earth with its biodiversity, natural beauties, and importance for our planet through oxygen production and carbon storage. Understandably, there are plenty of people wanting to witness its wonders in person. If you are one of them, here is everything you need to know about visiting the Amazon rainforest.

The Best Time to Visit is Between June and November

You can expect rainfall regardless of the time you are visiting. However, there are less rain showers during the “dry season,” which is between June and November. Picking these dates will give you a  better chance of staying dry and dealing with fewer mosquitos.

There are Multiple Countries From Which You Can Visit

An important thing to consider is that the Amazon rainforest spans multiple countries. The majority of the rainforest is situated in Brazil, but it is also part of Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname, and Venezuela.

You Will Need a Guide

Exploring the Amazon rainforest by yourself can be extremely dangerous due to its massive size and inhospitable terrain. Having a guide alongside you will make the experience much safer while ensuring you don’t miss anything important.

There is an Abundance of Activities to Choose From

Everyone can find an activity that interests them during their visit to the Amazon rainforest. From marveling at natural beauties while hiking or canoeing to meeting indigenous communities, there is an abundance of activities to choose from, and each one provides a unique experience.
