Walking at any time of the day is enjoyable, but there’s something especially glorious about timing a walk to watch the sunrise. Here are some areas in the UK which offer amazing sunrise walks.

Latrigg Fell, Cumbria

Overlooking the charming town of Keswick in the Lake District, this gentle hike to the summit will reward you with fantastic views over the town and the surrounding countryside. The sun will rise from behind some stunning pointy hills for a breathtaking start to the day. 

Benacre National Nature Reserve, Suffolk

The Suffolk coastline faces east so basing yourself in this area for the sunrise means you’ll have an uninterrupted view of the sun rising out of the sea. This lovely nature reserve has some gentle strolls to enjoy throughout it, so timing a walk for the sunrise here is ideal.

Arthur’s Seat, Edinburgh 

This gorgeous area is found within the lovely city of Edinburgh in Scotland and is an ideal place to head for a delightful walk without having to leave the city. Strolling up here to watch the sun rising over the city is a wonderful way to start the day.
