The Soup You Need When Its Cold Out

on

It’s very cold outside and just seems to be getting colder and colder every single day. Snow is falling, roads are icing, and winds are chilling. This cold weather may seem like the perfect weather to stay indoors and eat that leftover sandwich you didn’t finish from yesterday’s meal. However, this cold weather is actually the perfect weather to enjoy some soup, specifically Pho.

Weather permitting, it is highly suggested that you bear the cold for a few minutes in order to drive to your nearest Vietnamese restaurant. Here, they have a dish called Pho, which is ultimately the equivalent of an asian chicken noodle soup. Pho is filled with a ton of perfectly fitting flavors and spices, and is always the perfect addition to any chilly day. Pho can be made with chicken, shrimp, beef, pork, and even tofu for those who eat more of a vegetarian style diet.

Pho comes packed with filling rice noodles, veggies, and the meat of your choice. As a side, you are also typically served bean sprouts, limes, a variety of herbs such as cilantro and basil, and even some jalapenos that you can add to your dish to your specific desire. There are also a variety of sauces that you can add to garnish your soup and add some extra spice and flavor – Hoisin sauce, Sriracha sauce, and red pepper sauce are typically offered with this soup dish.

Pho has become quite popular among many Americans recently for its yummy flavor and soothing properties.
