Enchanted Forest is one of the creepiest theme park you’ll ever seen. It opened in August of 1955, just a few months after Disneyland opens its doors. It was the Disneyland of the East Coast.
Enchanted Forest is located in Maryland. The main theme of the park was fairytales. It had slides, boat rides and a petting zoo. It was a place loved by kids, they would get there and find everything they were looking for.
However, Enchanted Forest started losing visitors when better theme parks started popping up in neighboring states. Therefore the owner Howard Harrison decided to sell the park to a shopping center developer in 1987. The park was sold for a tune of $4.5 million.
The new owner promised to keep the park open while the construction of the shopping center was taking place. So the park reopened in 1990 with many attractions removed. By the end of the year it was shut down for good. What’s left now is far from charming.
