Social media accounts can often appear less realistic than inspirational, but for those of us wishing we could go on a trip, the myriad of travel accounts online still feel like a personalized, digital postcard from destinations we long to be at. Here are three amazing Instagram accounts that broaden horizons. 

Jedidiah Jenkins

This Wilderness magazine editor’s account features unbelievably diverse photos – nomadic offices, surfers on isolated beaches, and more, but that’s not all – the captions under the photos are just as impressive. The brutally honest, heartfelt lines leave one contemplating their own views and thoughts as one sees a flower poking out of the pavement or inadvertently looks into a stranger’s eyes.

Robbie Bond

This unusual ten-year-old boy is on a dedicated mission to reduce social dependence on plastic and protect public land. Originally from Hawaii, he roams the country to educate his followers on monuments, national parks, environmental issues, and more. If his fervor and conviction weren’t impressive enough, there are also the amazing photos of natural wonders and landmarks. Truly a unique account that I have never had a second thought about following.

This young Instagram nomad really understands the destinations she travels to. She’s not on the road all the time, but rather exploring the world from a temporary home base. She moved to Moab from Michigan, where she plans to spend a couple of months exploring the Southwest.
