Travel destinations around the world often attract people based on their history, culture, museums, and various attractions. There tend to be some cities that are often more traveled to than others. These cities include Paris, London, New York, Rome, and many other cities that you have probably heard of 100 times.

But what destinations are trending for this years’ travelers? Google recently released a list of the top travel destinations that their users have searched for in 2017.

At number one, Las Vegas, Nevada was the premier search for travelers. Las Vegas offers resorts, gambling, shows, and really cool night life that is undoubtedly appealing to those who like to party. The second most searched destination was Barcelona, Spain. This beautiful, Mediterranean city has so much to offer in terms of art, culture, and cuisine.

Aspen, Colorado and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina were also popularly searched, each offering different, local activities such as skiing or beach going.

At number five, the Dominican Republic, specifically Punta Cana, was a popular search. Punta Cana offers a beautiful, tropical atmosphere, among many other cool, cultural experiences.

The Maldives and Turks and Caicos were next on the list, continuing the theme of travelers wanting to explore tropical island destinations.

In with, ninth, and tenth place were Bali, Cancun, and Bermuda. These exotic locations are all stunning destinations that are looking to be pretty popular among travelers in the upcoming year.

Surprisingly, many of the major cities that people often think of as typical travel destinations were not present on the list. Most locations were tropical in their environment. Maybe this means that people are leaning more towards enjoying relaxing vacations than traveling to other, more historical cities.
