Alton Towers, located in the north west of the UK, is one of the country’s oldest and most renowned theme parks. Now hosting well over fifty fantastic rides, it’s a tried and trusted day trip for good reason. If you have kids to entertain, or if you’re a theme park fan yourself, make sure you plan in time for a trip so you can experience some of the famous rides and amusements. Here are three of the best to get you inspired.

The Curse at Alton Manor

Based on a classic ghost train experience, but promising to fall on the scarier side of things, the Curse is an immersive and haunting ride which will provide plenty of jumps, thrills and spooks as you take a train through the abandoned manor.

Nemesis Reborn

Perhaps Alton Towers’ most famous ride, this thrilling rollercoaster includes plenty of hair-raising twists, terrifying loops and dizzying drops. It has recently been updated to add in even more twists and turns, so you’re sure to experience the thrill of a lifetime riding Nemesis Reborn.

The Wicker Man Rollercoaster

The Wicker Man is the first wooden rollercoaster to have been built in the UK for over 20 years. Although the track itself is on the tamer side, the decor and theme of this ride are certainly spooky enough. This ride is particularly popular around Halloween, and it’s easy to see why.
