With Paris gearing up for the summer Olympics, now is an ideal time to visit the French capital. There’s even more buzz and excitement in Paris at the moment than usual, and the style stakes have been ramped up by the promise of global attention falling on the city and its inhabitants. If you’re taking a spring or summer trip to Paris, make sure you pack at least one of these super chic items, so that you can match the Parisians when it comes to demonstrating your superior taste and style.

Brown Blazer

Brown can be an unexpected, yet highly chic shade. It’s a touch more experimental than fail-safe black, but there is a shade to suit every style and skin tone. A brown blazer can be dressed up or down, depending on the look you’re trying to achieve, and it’s also a great additional layer to pack if you’re visiting in the spring.

Mesh Ballet Flats

Ballet flats have been big news for a while, and you’re sure to see plenty of pairs being sported around the French capital. For an extra layer of cool, try out a pair of mesh flats. Not only will these look great with dresses, pants, and skirts, the mesh means these shoes will keep your feet feeling cool and fresh, even if you’re pounding the pavements seeking out the best sights and things to do in Paris.

Wide Legged Pants

Wide, flowing pants are a great option if you’re looking to stay cool in the summer heat. Pair them with a cropped tank top, or commit to the oversized look and wear them with a large shirt. When styled with sneakers or sandals, wide-legged pants can look casual and chic, rather than like workwear.

Spain is a hugely popular destination for traveling and vacations. Spain is a must-visit country, with beaches, cities, and national parks to please everyone. It famously offers fantastic food and hospitality for not much money, but if you’re really seeking to stretch your budget, read these tips before visiting Spain.

Book Travel In Advance

As in many countries, booking your train tickets in advance can really save you some dosh. It is possible to travel vast distances between major cities for less than fifty euros – check out options between Barcelona and Madrid, and Seville and Valencia. On some of these trains, even first-class tickets will cost significantly less than train travel in other countries, so you can treat yourself to some travel luxury while staying in budget!

Hit The Bars

Part of the bar and drinking culture in Spain involves bar snacks, and across the country, many of these drinking establishments will serve you fantastic (and quite filling) snacks for free, or just a few euros. If you go at around 5 pm, you can expect to be served nuts, chips, battered vegetables, warm chorizo, and even small platters of patatas bravas with your beer. If you eat enough bar snacks, you will save serious money on dinner, and get to sample little tastes of Spanish cuisine.

Stay Off Season

Visiting Spain even just a week before or after the high season can halve the price of your accommodation. Spanish people usually holiday for the entirety of August, so avoid this month if you can, and check the dates of other European school holidays to avoid hordes of crowds and higher prices. Consider May or late September, as in these months the weather is still generally good but you won’t get caught out by inflated prices.

It is relatively easy to see the best of Spain whilst staying within budget. Avoiding certain times of the year, enjoying the bar snacks and being savvy with rail travel can save hundreds of euros, all for little effort.

When it comes to traveling, we believe it’s best practice to pack lightly, and not take with us anything that’s really not essential. Here’s why a sweatshirt, while seemingly not essential, actually is essential in every scenario.

Truly Necessary

When traveling to a cold destination, you would obviously consider a sweatshirt to be essential. The thing is, it’s also essential at a warm destination—for the off chance that it gets randomly cold.

Weather is Weird

Weather is truly a strange phenomenon. You can think that it’ll be a certain temperature due to the overwhelming reports, and yet you can still find those reports missing the beat occasionally. The point is that that your sweatshirt will likely not be used—but the last thing you want is for the cold randomness of weather to hit you without one.

Ultimately, it’s just a precaution. But it’s not the same precaution as wondering if you’ll need that third belt—it’s an essential one.

Jetting off on a break or even just heading off on a long weekend can be super exciting. In all the rush to pack and get ready, it’s easy to neglect your toiletries, but there are some skincare products you don’t want to travel without. No matter what your skin type or skincare concerns, these are your holy grail products which should go into your toiletries bag before anything else.

Sunscreen (SPF 30+)

Whether you opt for a cream, a moisturizer with SPF, or a spray-on formula, taking some form of sunscreen away with you is non-negotiable. Even if you’re heading to colder climes, protecting your skin from harmful UV rays will avoid any uncomfortable tightness or burning, and will also ensure that your skin is being taken care of and protected for the long term.

Cleanser

There is nothing worse than feeling like your skin is layered up with sunscreen, sand, and salt from the sea, and being unable to thoroughly cleanse it. Decant a bit of your favorite cleanser into a travel bottle if you don’t want to take the whole bottle with you. Cleanser will help balance your skin and keep it feeling fresh, which is particularly important if you’re vacationing somewhere hot and humid.

Moisturizer

Even if your skin tends to be oilier, moisturizer is a great way of balancing and calming your skin. Choose a lighter formula if you’re visiting somewhere warm and layer it under your SPF to create a natural barrier that will keep your skin feeling hydrated and healthy.

Have you ever dreamed of embarking on a romantic cruise to Italy or the rest of Mediterranean Europe? Then you’re in the right place. Here is how you can get a majorly affordable deal on a cruise that you’re unlikely to find anywhere else.

Costa Cruises’ Amazing Deal

Costa Cruises is an Italian cruise line that’s giving travelers the opportunity to cruise around Northern Europe and the Mediterranean for under $300. The trick is, however, that you’ll need to book your trip before April 11, meaning that it would be pretty spontaneous. Still, you’ll enjoy some major value from this spur-of-the-moment decision.

Where do the Cruises Go?

In May, Costa Cruises offers you the opportunity to enjoy cruises ranging from nine to 23 days in length. Among the destinations are Denmark, Germany, Greenland, Iceland, Scotland, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, and Turkey, giving you a generous list of options.

Aside from just taking you to exotic destinations, Costa Cruises also specializes in providing you with unique travel experiences, including a typical Caprese breakfast in Italy and parties in Ibiza. Basically, if you’re looking for an affordable way to travel to various countries, all while enjoying a preorganized itinerary that leaves you with minimal planning and maximum fun, then a cruise with Costa Cruises is something you should seriously consider, especially if you love the idea of getting a juicy deal.

Hong Kong, China offers a fantastic experience for tourists. From amusement parks to cultural events and outdoor activities, every traveler can find something to get excited about in Hong Kong. However, there are some things you should know before visiting.

You Won’t Need a Visa

Hong Kong doesn’t require U.S. citizens to have a visa for tourist visits. All you need is a passport, and you can stay up to 90 days. However, if you intend to visit mainland China from Hong Kong, a visa is needed.

It’s Expensive

Hong Kong is one of the most expensive places in the world. The cost of living is high, and that translates to pricey accommodation and expensive food.

Metro is the Best Form of Transportation

Forget about taxis or Uber—metro is the best form of transportation in Hong Kong. The metro system here is one of the most efficient in the world and is also an affordable way to go from point A to point B.

Weather is Unpredictable

The weather can change in a heartbeat in Hong Kong. It can be sunny and warm at one point and rainy and windy at another. Make sure to bring some extra clothes to prepare for the unpredictable weather. It will also come in handy as Hong Kong is humid most of the year, and you’ll be sweating a lot.

You Always Need to Have Some Cash With You

You will be able to use your credit card for most services and goods. However, there are some small shops or certain services that still only accept cash. Also, a number of establishments don’t accept cards that are not Visa or MasterCard.

Spain offers some seriously stunning walking, whether you’re a novice hiker or closer to a pro. From the rocky coastlines in the south to the rolling plains in its center, Spain’s landscapes offer plenty of variety, beauty, and natural wonder. Check out this trail, the Cares route which will take you across a section of the stunning Picos mountains in the north of the country.

The Start

Begin this trail in the small village of Poncebos, in the province of Asturias. Although this trail is only about 16 miles each way, the terrain can be challenging, so you will want to make sure that you are well-equipped with quality hiking shoes, snacks, and water. If in doubt, book a guide who will help you through the ravines, gorges, and mountain paths that you must cross to complete this hike.

Middle Section

As you move further along the trail, you will enter the Cares Gorge, otherwise known as ‘the Divine Gorge’ for its stunning beauty. Be careful as the ledge you are walking along will get narrow, and the drop-down is steep. However, when you’re resting, make sure to take in the stunning views and impressive scenery.

End Point

Your hike will end in the village of Caín, in the province of León. It is a good idea to stop here overnight, as there are plenty of places to stay in the village, and as the hike takes on average 8 hours, most people cannot make it back to Poncebos within one day. The best times of year to do this hike are in May and June, as during the high summer months the trail can become very busy.
