How to Plan the Perfect Baby Moon

on

Being a parent changes your life forever. So what better way to embark on the beginning of your life changing forever than taking a long and well deserved vacation before your life becomes stressful. One of the latest trends is to embark on babymoons, or trips that expectant parents take to relax before the big day. This trend is not only associated with the Hollywood elite: Almost 60% of parents-to-be report taking a pre-baby trip, making for more than 2 million babymooners in the US each year. This data was collected by the survey conducted by Liberty Travel and BabyCenter.com.

However, if you want to go on a baby moon there are some things you have to take into consideration first. Plan your trip in your second trimester, between 14 and 28 weeks into your pregnancy, not before and not later. This is the perfect time to go becuase you probably won’t have many complications.  Hopefully you won’t have morning sickness by then and your baby bump will not be so big yet. Choose your destination wisely. Keep in mind that it’s best to cut down on travel time and to avoid long road trips or flight.

Update your doctor. Make sure he gives you the ok before traveling. Be prepared: Look up for the name, address and contact number for a hospital or medical center at your destination, just in case. Do it especially if you travel abroad. We suggest a cruise that will be a relaxing and fun vacation!
