]]>This island makes the impressive claim of being the most remote place on the planet that people live on. At a huge 1750 miles from Cape Town (South Africa), this island can only be reached by boat and this trip takes 6 days.
Most people know this fascinating location for the awe-inspiring huge stone heads that are dotted across the land. As well as being home to these iconic monuments, this island also happens to be incredibly remote at 2,200 miles off the coast of Chile, and 1,200 miles to the nearest island.
This island is not inhabited by anyone other than teams of research scientists. Some of these scientists are there to imagine what life would be like on Mars, which gives an insight into the unfavorable conditions of the island.
Many know Greenland to be a super remote country, and this tiny settlement is the perfect example of this. It’s frozen for 9 months each year, and for 600 miles around it, there are no inhabitants.
