Were you thinking on visiting France soon? You might want to check your GPS for underwater highways before getting behind the wheel.
The Passage du Gios is the road that connects the Gulf of Burnëf with the island of Noirmoutier. Twice a day, the high tide rises and the 2.58 mile long road completely disappears 13 ft underwater.
Drivers can only use the road for a few hours twice a day, but that doesn’t stop hundred of tourists from visiting the special place.
Because of the high amount of tourists in the area, the authorities have installed special panels on both sides of the road, that show when the road is safe, and when it’s about to go under.
So, would you take the chance and drive on this truly unique road? or just use a boat and be on the safe side?
