Here are some exciting places to head for to enjoy this activity.
Cuckmere River, Sussex
This gorgeous winding river runs through beautiful flat grasslands with rolling hills surrounding either side. Wherever you start upriver, if you follow it to the end you’ll reach Cuckmere Haven. This charming beach is great for swimming or relaxing and has great views of the iconic Seven Sisters chalk cliffs.
Steps Bridge, Devon
The babbling River Teign starts on Dartmoor and winds its way through a wooded valley. If you start from the lovely old Steps Bridge, then you can walk upriver through some outstanding deciduous temperate rainforest with glimpses of the rushing river through the luscious trees.
College Valley, Northumberland
This stunning valley is located in the Cheviot Hills and follows the lovely College Burn. Building away from this river, the valley offers sweeping views and vast landscapes. You’ll also have the chance to spot some lovely Cheviot goats roaming freely as well as some lovely natural woodlands.
