Alyssa Ramos Will Make You Fall in Love with the Magic of Solo Travel

Traveling on your own takes a lot of courage, but it gets easier once you take that first step. If you’re looking for someone who could give you a push in the right direction, look no further than Alyssa Ramos, a female solo traveler who’s visited over 100 countries.

Ramos is the mastermind behind the travel blog My Life’s a Travel Movie, who built an impressive following over the course of the last decade. She started blogging and traveling full-time after her viral Huffington Post article “Yes, I’m Pretty and I’m Traveling Alone” put her on the map, but how did her love affair with travel first start?

Traveling full-time took a lot of hard work since Ramos never had rich parents to finance her globe-trotting lifestyle. She actually grew up poor with a single mom and four siblings, and she still can’t believe she’s lucky enough to get paid to travel the world.

She decided to take her first solo trip after getting fed up with waiting around for other people, and this made her realize how good it feels to explore the world on your own.

“I like to do a lot of aggressive traveling at random which makes it hard to coordinate with someone else. When I travel, I also work a lot which is difficult to do with someone else, and also as an ‘outgoing introvert’, I find it easier to meet people when I’m on my own,” she explained on her blog.
