We have all dreamed of having your own castle since the fairy tales we would read as kids. Well, Italy is giving away 103 run-down properties. The properties include villas, inns, and castles. Everything for free.

That means anyone could become the owner of these amazing locations. Now’s your chance to make your dreams come true. So what’s the catch? How can you get a free Italian castle? The country’s State Property Agency expects anyone who gets a free castle to commit to restoring it. The owner can decide to turn it into a hotel, spa, restaurant, or anything else but he needs to restore it first.

“The project will promote and support the development of the slow tourism sector,” Roberto Reggi from the State Property Agency said. “The goal is for private and public buildings which are no longer used to be transformed into facilities for tourists.” If you want to apply to get a free castle, the deadline is June 26, and if, however, your application is denied, don’t worry – Italy plans to give out 200 objects the same way within the next two years. So good luck!

Check out this super unique and fun way to eat ice cream! Everyone loves getting flowers, and everyone loves ice cream, right? Well, the good ice cream makers at iCreamy in Sydney, Australia, have married the two together to create the prettiest ice creams we’ve ever seen!

Instead of your usual one-scoop-on-top-of-another style ice cream, the store creates its ice creams in the shape of flowers, which quite frankly, are too pretty to eat! How do they do it? Well, iCreamy co-owner Pichaporn Sapsittiporn told the Broadsheet “we do it petal by petal,” and revealed that she uses a shoehorned shape spatula to carve the flower petals from the tubs.

She then places the “petals” in the center of a waffle cone and builds a weave outwards until the cone looks like a flower. Or a kaleidoscope.

If the prettiness isn’t enough for you, the flavors are equally as exciting! These flavors are not just your typical chocolate and vanilla flavors. There are an assortment of other flavors that you probably have never heard of before or even tried before! “We are all Thai, so we wanted to develop Asian flavors,” Pichaporn continued. “You might find some bright orange Thai milk tea; black sesame; or white chocolate made with miso.” How yummy does that sound? Flowers and ice cream are already unique, but now flower ice cream combined with Thai flavors is certainly a mix that needs to be tried!

With ice cream this beautiful, it’s almost a shame to eat it.

The Amazing Photo is One of the First Ever Captured Underwater https://tworeddots.com/the-amazing-photo-is-one-of-the-first-ever-captured-underwater/ Tue, 08 Mar 2022 13:00:02 +0000 https://tworeddots.com/the-amazing-photo-is-one-of-the-first-ever-captured-underwater/ When you take a look at this photo, you may not know exactly what it is from, or when it was captured. What's interesting about this photo is that it actually was taken long ago. A lot of mystery surrounds this photo. However, we know for sure it’s a portrait of a Romanian oceanographer by Louis Boutan, taken sometime between 1893 and 1899 in Banyuls-sur-Mer, in the South of France. Louis Boutan was a French photography pioneer. Early in his life he worked for a marine biology lab, where he fell in love with diving. As time passed, Boutan wanted to show people the underwater world he had the privilege to experience.

Louis Boutan was a French photography pioneer. Early in his life he worked for a marine biology lab, where he fell in love with diving. As time passed, Boutan wanted to show people the underwater world he had the privilege to experience.

With his brother’s help, Louis invented his underwater camera in 1893. At the time it was considered to be advanced because the photographer/diver could adjust its diaphragm, plates, and shutter whilst underwater. However, the biggest challenge for Louis was lighting. With the flash photography rigs that were available it took Boutan about 30 minutes to correctly light his plates underwater.

His later invention involved a burning alcohol lamp on an oxygen-filled barrel. It used a rubber bulb to blow magnesium powder into the lamp, creating a flash. Even though this creation produced much better lighting than its peers, it was still very big. Boutan continued his work and made more and more compact portable flashes, smaller camera boxes and improved lenses. Louis Boutan was one of the few, if not the only, true underwater photographers, pushing photography to new heights.
