Wondering what else Norway has to offer to travelers besides its impressive capital, Oslo? Then, visit the following three cities.

Tromsø

Those looking to experience the beauty of the Arctic region without compensating for comfort need to have Tromsø as their first destination after Oslo. This city is especially known for offering perfect opportunities to witness the Aurora Borealis thanks to being located in the center of the Northern Lights Oval area. Additionally, you will be able to take part in all sorts of other outdoor activities and enjoy local culture and exceptional cuisine.

Bergen

Bergen is a great base for exploring Norway’s fjords. It is near the country’s most famous fjords, and visiting them is convenient thanks to daily tours departing from the city’s harbor. Additionally, Bergen is home to the famous World Cultural Heritage site of Bryggen, a row of colorful Hanseatic League buildings situated on the dock.

Ålesund

Ålesund is one of the most unique cities in Norway. After most of it was destroyed in a fire in 1904, the city was rebuilt in Art Nouveau style and now stands as an exceptional example of 20th-century architecture. You can spend days simply exploring its streets, and you won’t get bored. On top of that, the beautiful surrounding nature will make you spend most of your time outdoors.

You know the saying: “When in Rome, do as the Romans do?” Well, it is not always the best approach to have when visiting Rome, Italy. Instead, check out these things you should and shouldn’t do while there.

You Should Visit Every Major Tourist Attraction

Romans usually don’t flock to the tourist attractions around their city. For them, it is something they see or can see every day, but for you, it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn about history, admire the ruins, and check out amazing art.

You Shouldn’t Go Everywhere with Public Transportation

Public transportation isn’t bad in Rome, on the contrary. But use it all the time, and you will miss out on so many great things, experiences, and hidden gems. Stick to walking as much as you can.

You Should Book Accommodation Near the Historic Center

Rome is huge but you will likely spend the bulk of your visit wandering the historic city center. This is why you should look to book your accommodation as close to it as possible. This way, you won’t waste precious time getting to attractions you want to see.

You Shouldn’t Miss an Opportunity to Make a Day Trip

Just because you are visiting Rome, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t leave it. Use the opportunity to make a day trip to Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, or Tuscany.

Late Arrival

Just Staying Outside

The Giza pyramids are a sight to behold even if you just see them from the outside, but you shouldn’t overlook their interior unless you’re too claustrophobic to step inside.

Fall is a great season for taking an adventurous trip, as the changing colors of nature provide a perfect setting for hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, and similar activities. However, there are several tips you should keep in mind when taking an adventurous trip during the fall.

Do Your Research

Make sure that the fall season allows for your preferred adventure at the destination of your choosing. Some activities and/or destinations that are enjoyable during the summer can be much more challenging during the fall.

Be Prepared for Different Weather Conditions

This is the most important thing to keep in mind when setting off on an adventure during the fall. The weather conditions can be unpredictable, and you want to be prepared for all of them. Dress in layers that you can put on or take off depending on the weather, and make sure to wear sturdy and waterproof footwear.

Pack Smartly

You should put a lot of thought into your packing routine. This includes having extra items of clothing while also packing some equipment that can help you with the rain, like an umbrella or a raincoat.

Stay Hydrated and Energized

Finally, staying hydrated and energized is the key to handling the challenges of an adventure trip during the fall season. The body will be taking a bigger strain during colder weather, so you need to ensure you drink plenty of water and consume food that will provide you with a boost of energy.

Think you’ve tried all that French cuisine has to offer? Beyond the baguettes and croissants lies a world of bizarre and intriguing delicacies that challenge the palate and excite the senses. Here are three of the weirdest foods to try in France.

Andouillette Sausage

Andouillette is a distinctive French sausage made from chitterlings (pig intestines). It is uniquely seasoned and often praised for its strong aroma and deeper meaty flavor compared to other sausages. Andouillette is typically grilled or fried and served with mustard, onions, or a creamy sauce.

Far Breton

Far Breton is a lesser-known but delicious traditional dessert from the Brittany region of France. This dense, flan-like cake contains prunes or other dried fruits and is similar in texture to clafoutis. The ingredients include flour, milk, eggs, and sugar, with the fruit often soaked in rum or brandy. It’s a comforting dish, typically enjoyed as a dessert or an afternoon snack.

Escargots de Bourgogne (Snails)

While eating snails might seem offbeat to some, escargots are a classic French delicacy especially popular in Burgundy. Prepared with parsley butter, garlic, and sometimes a splash of white wine, these snails are served in their shells and eaten with a special fork and tongs.

Slow travel is one of the most eco-friendly, authentic, and immersive ways to explore a new destination – and  Bucketlist Bri swears by it. She’s lived in several different countries over the course of the past decade, and she’s using her platform to encourage other digital nomads to embrace the magic of slow travel.

Bri was just ten when she fell in love with travel, and a family trip to Belize was responsible for awakening her wanderlust. The sense of mystery, adventure, and adrenaline she felt back then followed her for the years to come, and she’s still chasing that feeling during her slow travels around the world.

Bri is exploring the world with her boyfriend, Paul, and they made a joint decision to embrace the nomadic lifestyle after falling in love in college. They lived everywhere from France and Mexico to Japan and Guatemala with their cat Yoda over the years, sticking around for prolonged periods of time at each destination.

“I think it’s especially important that, as digital nomads, we make extra effort to integrate into the communities we visit and live in. We aren’t just tourists who come and go each week. We have the opportunity to plant seeds of change and make a positive impact,” Brie writes on her travel blog.

The tropical paradise of Bali is the first place travelers have in mind when they think about visiting Indonesia. That is completely understandable, considering how beautiful the island is, but it’s also a shame. The country has many more amazing places that are well worth your time but don’t get enough recognition.

Raja Ampat Islands

The archipelago Raja Ampat Islands consists of hundreds of rainforest-covered islands that hide some of the most breathtaking natural wonders. The islands provide a home to numerous species of birds, mammals, and reptiles, including some endemic to the area, while the waters surrounding them are an astonishing example of marine biodiversity. You can witness these wonders in person while engaging in activities like diving and snorkeling.

Komodo National Park

Komodo National Park was proclaimed as one of the new Seven Wonders of the World in an internet pool that saw 100 million people casting their votes. If this isn’t enough to make you want to visit, consider that it’s also the only place on Earth where the dragons still roam free. The area is best known for being home to the Komodo dragon, the world’s largest lizard, as well as its rich marine biodiversity.

Yogyakarta

If you want to learn more about Javanese culture and art and see some stunning buildings and historical places, then Yogyakarta is a can’t-miss destination. Besides its important landmarks and monuments, Yogyakarta is popular among tourists for its proximity to Borobudur, the largest Buddhist temple in the world, and Prambanan, the second-largest Hindu temple in Southeast Asia.

We all want our vacations to be as relaxing, fun-filled, and as perfect as possible. This is why something like sunburn can feel like a real pain, in more ways than one. In an ideal world, we would all avoid getting sunburned in the first place, but sometimes salt water can wash sunscreen off, or the sun can simply be more powerful than we were expecting. Check out these tips on how to soothe and care for sunburn on holiday, so you can get back to relaxing and making the most of your break away.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is a natural substance that can calm and care for burns and is usually available in most pharmacies. Take care that the type you’re purchasing doesn’t have extra fragrance or unnecessary ingredients—it may even be worth packing a small amount of pure aloe vera to take with you when you head away on vacation, just to be safe.

Hydration

If your skin is burned, you can help repair it from the inside out by staying well hydrated. Drinking water and eating foods with a high water content, such as melon and cucumber, will help your skin heal and regain its glow and softness.

Sun Safety

Once you’ve been burned, you will need to make sure you’re not exposing your skin to the sun for a while. Make sure you pack a hat to take on vacation, and a thin scarf to drape over your shoulders can also be a good idea. Seek out the shade in the middle of the day, and avoid swimming for at least the first 24 hours after being burned.
