Pinterest decided to highlight this trend after several mountain ranges from around the world experienced a spike in searches on this platform. The Portillo ski resort in Chile is the most popular mountain destination among Pinterest users, but it’s closely followed by the Dolomites in Italy and the Atlas Mountains in North Africa.
Skiing will be a major part of the “peak” holidays in 2025, judging by Pinterest’s searches, and the way you dress for your mountain escapades will make all the difference. “Skiing fits” is one of the most-searched terms under this category, along with “mountain trip outfits”.

Cameroon emerged as the top choice among the countries just in time for the 65th anniversary of its independence, thanks to its pristine beaches, vibrant cities, and unspoiled national parks. Lithuania, Fiji, Laos, and Kazakhstan are also among the countries worth visiting in 2025, according to Lonely Planet.
Toulouse, France was chosen as the No. 1 city for 2025, and it’s been described as “a maze-like city overflowing with art galleries in repurposed industrial spaces, excellent food, and scenic river and canal banks” by Lonely Planet.
As for the regions you shouldn’t miss for the world in 2025, Pondicherry in India is leading the way, along with Bansko in Bulgaria, Chiang Mai in Thailand, and Genoa in Italy.
