]]>Quiet travel is about embracing stillness. Anything from a leisurely hike in a secluded forest to a quiet morning watching the sunrise from a hidden beach. The goal is to connect more deeply with the environment, oneself, and the local culture in a more meaningful, less intrusive way.
The growing popularity of quiet travel has several explanations. The pandemic, for one, has shifted our perspectives, emphasizing the value of solitude and introspection. Additionally, the constant connectivity and the pressure of social media have led many to seek out experiences that allow for digital detox and real-world connections.
If you’re ready to embrace this new experience, consider booking a location off the beaten path for your next trip. Or book a long trip to get to know the local community and immerse yourself in the local way of life. This approach naturally lends itself to quieter, more reflective travel experiences.

]]>Between the towns of Riomaggiore and Manarola in the Cinque Terre lies a path known as the Via dell’Amore. In case your Italian is not up to scratch, it means the Way of Love.
The 1-kilometer walk derived its name from being a secluded place for lovers from the two towns to meet. It has since become the most popular hiking trail in the Cinque Terre National Park.
The Via dell’Amore has been closed for the last decade following a tragic incident that occurred in 2012. A rock landslide resulted in four Australian tourists being seriously injured, after which the path was closed for repairs.
With new safety measures in place, such as steel mesh to contain the rocks and a sensor system to monitor rock movement, the Via dell’Amore has partly re-opened to the public.
At the moment, visitors can access the first section only via guided tours and will have to pay a €5 entrance fee to discourage over-tourism.
The Via dell’Amore is set to open fully in July 2024.

]]>Before attempting the pillow hack, it’s important to familiarize yourself with the specific baggage rules of the airline you’ll be flying with. Most airlines allow at least one personal item per passenger—such as the pillow—but it’s wise to know the details to avoid any surprises at the airport.

Traveling already means hauling a heavy suitcase or a backpack, so think twice before adding even more weight to the mix. Your relaxing trip will quickly turn into a muscle-building boot camp if you’re going everywhere with a heavy pillow filled with clothes, on top of all your other luggage.
While the pillow hack can save you money, it’s essential to consider the size of the pillow you choose to carry. A full-size pillow might attract attention, especially given the hack’s popularity on TikTok, so consider opting for a more discreet, compact neck pillow instead.

Ai-generated itineraries can be unreliable and contain inaccuracies, so it’s important to look into several other sources and cross-check all the information to keep your plans as current and accurate as possible.

AI-generated travel itineraries can offer great suggestions, but they often lack a personal touch. It’s important to strike a balance between AI assistance and your own research. Instead of letting them do all the planning for you, try to tailor your itinerary to your own interests, budget limitations, and travel style.
AI-generated travel plans leave very little room for spontaneity, which should be an essential part of every trip. You’ll miss out on many hidden gems and unique experiences if you blindly follow what ChatGPT is saying. Let your itinerary guide you, but embrace the spirit of spontaneity and see where the road will take you when you live in the moment.

]]>The post “Hush Trips” Are All the Rage Right Now, But What Are They? appeared first on tworeddots.com.
]]>Embarking on a hush trip basically means working from home without actually being home—and never telling your boss where you are. According to Forbes, the main idea behind this trend is to pack up and head somewhere for a limited amount of time, without ever telling your employer.
This is proving to be a pretty popular option with remote workers who want to mix business with pleasure, but find digital nomadism too extreme. They might not be a good fit for everyone, but if you’re never required to come into the office and still manage to get all your work done, they might be just the thing you need.
There are still a few things you should keep in mind to keep your employer happy. Book a place where you have a stable Wi-Fi connection and prioritize work over sightseeing and relaxation. Pay for everything out of pocket and your employer shouldn’t have any complaints about your decision to change the scenery as long as you’re not spending the company’s money.

The notion and practice of meditation is nothing new. In fact the act itself has been around a lot longer than most of us even realised. We’re talking over 3000 years old. Yet the practice is still relevant, more so than ever, in today’s fast paced world. Meditation is an old practice but it is now starting to become more appreciated by many individuals.
I mean how often do we hear people instructing their stressed counterparts or colleagues to relax and take a breath. Well. Isn’t that the foundation of what meditation is all about.
In recent years, the words “mindfulness meditation” have become increasingly popular and so has the practice. So what is mindful meditation and how has contemporary society made it accessible for our “switched on”, tech savvy selves.
Mindfulness is essentially a form of mediation based on the Buddhist practice of vipassana which was designed to aid us in developing the skill of paying attention to our inner and outer experiences as they occur. While this may sound a bit airy fairy to the with it millenial there is now an app ( of course there is) that can help you meditate and become more aware of your present moment – to learn acceptance, patience and compassion.
Headspace – the name of the app – is becoming increasingly popular and reviews suggest it is helping a range of different people deal with the stress and anxiety in their lives. Not bad skills or tools if you ask us. We’re off to take a break. OHM.
