Trying to stay on top of the newest information about your flight while can be a stressful experience. Mobile apps are useful, but can be used with the newest information while info stations are usually crowded. Thankfully, there is one simple hack that can make your next flight stress-free.

TikToker Darby Malone, who is a former airline employee, recently shared a video, which has since received 27 million views, in which she detailed her “No.1 flying hack.” According to Malone, the thing she always does on the morning of a flight is texting herself the flight number.

The flight number text turns into a link that provides all the newest information about your flight and updates in real-time. This includes the departure time, gate number, arrival time, baggage claim info, and everything else you need to know.

In order for the hack to work, you need to use your iPhone’s messaging app. On top of that, you need to include the airline code. For example, if you are flying with Delta Airlines and your flight is 607, you need to send the following message: “DL607.”

You can also send this message to your family or friends so that they know your arrival time.

It turned out that a lot of people didn’t know about this hack.

“This is absolutely mind blowing information darby,” one TikToker wrote in the comments section.

“I have NEVER known this! This makes my type A airport self so happy,” another added.

Dubai, UAE, is considered one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. The city’s impressive skyline, abundance of shopping options, exceptional gastronomic experiences, and abundance of tourist attractions guarantee a great experience for visitors. However, in order to fully enjoy it, there are some tourist mistakes you should try to avoid while in Dubai.

Exploring on Foot

One of the biggest mistakes you can make in Dubai is trying to explore it on foot. The extreme heat will get to you quickly and things are always a lot farther than they seem. Instead, take advantage of the city’s advanced metro or local ride-sharing service Careem, and save yourself the trouble.

Disrespecting the Local Customs and Etiquette

Being disrespectful to local customs and etiquette can get you in a lot of trouble and even result in a fine in Dubai. This includes dressing inappropriately, displaying affection in public, taking photos without permission, and being loud or rude. Additionally, it is prohibited by law to drink in public in Dubai and not following this rule can get you in jail.

Failing to Book Activities and Shows in Advance or Showing Up Late

Dubai is always full of tourists who want to see and experience new things. This is why you should make sure to book activities and shows in advance if you don’t want to miss out on all the fun. Additionally, make sure to avoid showing up late, as you might encounter large crowds or even see that your seat is already occupied.

Visiting in the Summer

Finally, if you have a choice, avoid visiting Dubai in the summer. The temperatures regularly reach 105F during the summer months, making it almost impossible to enjoy outdoor activities.

Thanks to its unique blend of cultural riches, rainforests and jungles, beaches and islands, national parks, and amazing food, Malaysia is one of Asia’s most visited countries. It is a must-see destination for everyone who takes traveling and exploring seriously. However, before they start looking for flights and accommodations, there are some things travelers should know about Malaysia.

Expect Hot and Humid Weather

Malaysia is a country with seemingly endless summers. The weather is hot and humid all year round, with little change in temperatures across the year. Make sure you’re ready for this, packing light and breathable clothes as well as plenty of sunscreen.

Etiquette is Quite Important

Etiquette is quite important for Malaysians and visitors are expected to follow suit. It is advisable to learn more about the country’s customs and rules of behavior in order to avoid offending someone unintentionally. This includes dressing yourself modestly, avoiding pointing with your index finger, and keeping your voice down when talking.

Malaysia Isn’t a Party Destination

If you are traveling to Malaysia to party, you might think twice. Prices of alcohol and cigarettes are quite steep due to heavy taxes, so you’ll need to pay a premium for even something such as a glass of beer. Additionally, the country has no tolerance for any kind of drugs.

You’ll Need to Avoid Tap Water and Mosquitoes

Malaysia has a severe problem with water contamination, so it is advisable to avoid tap water or at least boil it. Additionally, you’ll want to avoid getting bit by mosquitoes as Dengue fever remains an issue in the country.

Bangkok is the world’s most visited city, and for good reason. It really has it all—stunning historical and religious sites, vibrant culture, exceptional food, and endless entertainment options. But if you want to experience all of that in the best way possible, make sure to avoid these tourist mistakes.

Booking Accommodation at the Wrong Location

Bangkok is huge and getting from point A to point B can be challenging, especially due to frequent traffic jams. If you don’t want to lose precious time, make sure to book accommodation at a convenient location. Research attractions you are most interested in seeing beforehand, and book an accommodation at a location that is nearest to them.

Exchanging Currency Before Arriving in Bangkok

Credit cards are widely accepted in Bangkok but you will need to have some of Thailand’s local currency baht to pay for certain services or at street shops and food stalls. However, don’t make a mistake and exchange money before arriving to Bangkok. This is because the exchange offices in Thailand offer much better rates compared to what you would receive in United States.

Not Wearing Sunscreen

This is a type of a mistake that can ruin your entire trip. The sun in Bangkok is quite tricky and you might end up with sun burns if you expose your skin without protection for less than an hour. Walking around in pain and all red is no fun. So make sure to bring a lot of sunscreen with high factor and apply it regularly.

Not Being Cautious of Tourist Scams

Just like in all major tourist destinations, tourist scams are quite frequent in Bangkok. Always be cautious about things you are not familiar with. For example, make sure to agree on a price before entering a Tuk Tuk and refuse their offers to make a short stop at a “great” shop, refuse services and proposals from strangers on the street, and don’t believe anyone telling you that a popular attraction is closed and that they know a better one.

While traveling is exciting, it can be stressful, especially when there is so much organizing to do. Still, some products can make traveling far easier. Here are some travel accessories you should get for a smooth vacation.

Compression Packing Cubes

When you pack your suitcase, chances are there have been times when you struggle to fit everything in your bag. You might also struggle to find everything after it gets jumbled in your bag. With some packing cubes, you’ll be able to keep your bag organized while saving space.

Travel Steamer

No matter how well you fold your clothes, there’s always a possibility that they will crease during your travels. This is why you should get a travel steamer that will easily straighten out your clothing within seconds.

Wireless Power Bank

If you’re on the move and your phone battery is low, then fear not—don’t have to search for a power outlet. With a wireless power bank, you can keep your smartphone charged wherever you go.

While most Asian countries embraced tourism, Bhutan remains largely closed or inaccessible to many foreign visitors. This is mainly by design, as the country’s government limits tourist activity in efforts to preserve the unique landscape and culture.

It goes without saying that Bhutan is a destination you should definitely visit if you have an opportunity. The country offers an opportunity to witness breathtaking scenery and get familiar with ways of life you haven’t seen before. However, before heading there, you need to know some things.

You Will Need a Visa

U.S. citizens need a visa to visit Bhutan. It can be obtained at the official website of the Bhutanese Department of Immigration and costs $40. The process time can take several days, and you will need to obtain a visa before purchasing plane tickets.

There is Only One International Airport

Bhutan only has one international airport. It is situated at 7300 feet above sea level near the town of Paro and 34 miles from the capital, Thimphu. Keep in mind that the conditions for landing and taking off are not ideal due to the airport’s elevation, and flights are frequently delayed.

You Will Need to Pay Tourist Tax

Bhutan has a tourist tax in place known as Sustainable Development Fee. All tourists are required to pay $100 for every day they spend in the country.

Getting a Tour Guide is Highly Recommended

Bhutan previously only allowed tourists to visit the country when they were accompanied by a certified tour guide. That requirement is no longer in place, but it is highly recommended to get one regardless. This way, you will ensure your trip goes smoothly while getting a better insight into the country’s culture and access to locations you wouldn’t be able to visit on your own.

Traveling to the United Kingdom won’t be so hassle-free for U.S. citizens anymore. Starting next year, the U.K. will require Americans who are visiting the country visa-free to get a prior online approval.

The new requirement is part of the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system that the U.K. is putting in place as part of efforts to improve the security of its borders. It will roll out in stages and will eventually be required for all visitors except British and Irish citizens, as well as holders of standard U.K. visas.

This means that Americans will be required to apply for ETA at a cost of around $12.50 if they plan to travel to the U.K. past January 8, 2025. The application can be sent online or via mobile app and is usually processed within minutes, although the process can sometimes take up to 72 hours.

The application will require answering a series of questions and submitting data like a passport, travel details, an email address, and a credit or debit card.

Once approved, the ETA will remain valid for up to two years. During that time, travelers can make multiple visits without applying for a new ETA.

The ETA applications for Americans wishing to visit the U.K. in the future are already open. It is advisable to submit a request at least several days before the date of your trip.

Booking an Airbnb is always a game of chance. The photos and description can be perfect, the reviews are glaring, but nothing guarantees you that the accommodation will meet your expectations. After all, the photos can be edited, and there are a lot of fake reviews out there. Luckily, there is a way to filter out the deceptive Airbnbs and avoid booking a nightmare accommodation. Just pay attention to these red flags.

The Price is Too Good

If the price is too good to be true, it usually is. Either Airbnb is fake or has some massive flaw that the host isn’t disclosing. Don’t be eager to find out why the price is too good; instead, simply book something else.

There Are Only a Couple of Photos of the Property

You’ll often encounter listings that contain only a couple of photos of the property, and the rest might be photos of the surrounding area or tourist attractions. You should consider this a significant red flag, as the host likely wants to avoid showing the bad sides of the rental.

No Photos of the Amenities

Make sure to go through the list of amenities and see if they are featured in the photos. If not, then the chances are that they don’t exist.

No Recent Reviews

You should read the reviews but also check out how old they are. If there are no recent reviews, it might mean that the property has been vacant for a while and neglected or that it is simply not desirable.

Belgium is an amazing destination for travelers who are looking to explore Europe. The country will greet you with scenic landscapes, breathtaking architecture, delicious food, and welcoming locals. However, before you actually go there, you should know a few things.

Credit Card Payments Are Preferred

Belgium is on track to completely eliminate cash from use, with credit cards being the preferred method of payment. There are very few establishments that accept cash, and even then, you need to have an exact amount to pay.

Almost Everyone Speaks English

Belgium has three official languages: Dutch, French, and German, with each being predominant in a different region. However, you won’t need to use any other language than English since almost everyone speaks it here.

You Shouldn’t Just Visit Brussels

While Brussels is the country’s most popular tourist destination, you shouldn’t just focus your visit to Belgium on this city. There are plenty of other cities that deserve your attention, and some are even considered more beautiful and interesting than Brussels, including Bruges, Antwerp, and Ghent.

Trains Are the Best Travel Method

If you plan to visit multiple destinations in Belgium, then the train is the best travel method. The trains are affordable and reliable, and you’ll also get to marvel at the train stations, which are often architectural wonders.

Don’t Dare to Order French Fries

Finally, you shouldn’t try to order French fries by any means. In Belgium, fries are called frites and are way different than French fries. Frites are thicker, double-fried, and paired with sauce.

Whether you are on an adventure trip or just exploring a new destination, the chances are that you will be walking a lot. This can take a toll on your feet, making them painful, sore, and swollen, and prevent you from enjoying your travels in full. However, there are a lot of things you can do to prevent this. Check them out below.

Pack Several Footwear Options

You shouldn’t just rely on one pair of shoes for your entire trip. Instead, make sure to pack several footwear options. This way, you can switch between them based on occasion and have a backup if one pair becomes uncomfortable.

Don’t Use Your Old Shoes (or Brand New Ones)

Bringing your old shoes or sneakers can seem like a sensible option. But while they might seem comfortable at first, they are not a great option for long walks because their heel is likely uneven and their soles worn out due to frequent wearing. Also, don’t bring brand new ones, because you will need time to break them in, and it’s not the most comfortable process. Instead, buy new shoes several weeks before the trip and wear them occasionally to get them ready.

Opt for Running Shoes

Running shoes might not be the most fashionable choice, but they are the best. They need less time to break in and are suitable for all kinds of activities.

Take Care of Your Feet Every Day

Finally, you should take care of your feet every day during the trip. This means cleaning blisters and small wounds with alcoholic wipes, applying powder on blister-prone areas and between the toes, and resting them by sitting down and putting your feet up for a certain period of time. The latter will be especially effective for swelling.
