Malbork Castle, Malbork

UNESCO has recognised this spectacular structure as a World Heritage Site. Situated in the town of Malbork, Malbork Castle is the largest brick castle in the world and dates back to the 13th century. It was constructed by the Teutonic Knights and served as their fortress, with guests able to admire the medieval architecture.

Książ Castle, Wałbrzych

Książ Castle is one of Poland’s most picturesque castles. It changed ownership several times since being built in the 13th century, including being Hitler’s headquarters during World War II. Visitors can now appreciate it as a museum, while admiring the Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture.

Wawel Castle, Kraków

Poland’s most famous castle can be found in the heart Kraków. Wawel Castle has been around since the 14th century and is considered one of the country’s most iconic landmarks. The castle was the residence of Polish royalty, with the Crown Treasury, Armory, and cathedral now open to the public.

]]> When you think of Italy, you think of pizza, pasta, and romance. The European country has long been a destination for honeymoons and romantic getaways thanks to its gorgeous scenery, and now, there is one more spot for lovebirds to visit. 

Between the towns of Riomaggiore and Manarola in the Cinque Terre lies a path known as the Via dell’Amore. In case your Italian is not up to scratch, it means the Way of Love.

The 1-kilometer walk derived its name from being a secluded place for lovers from the two towns to meet. It has since become the most popular hiking trail in the Cinque Terre National Park. 

The Via dell’Amore has been closed for the last decade following a tragic incident that occurred in 2012. A rock landslide resulted in four Australian tourists being seriously injured, after which the path was closed for repairs.

With new safety measures in place, such as steel mesh to contain the rocks and a sensor system to monitor rock movement, the Via dell’Amore has partly re-opened to the public. 

At the moment, visitors can access the first section only via guided tours and will have to pay a €5 entrance fee to discourage over-tourism.

The Via dell’Amore is set to open fully in July 2024.

They say that writing is a skill that you are born with, yet people in Sweden, South Africa, and New Zealand are very interested in the prospect of becoming one. There were 801,200 searches for how to be a writer from 75 countries. With most writing work being remote, and positions ranging from copywriter to novelist, who can blame ‘em?

YouTuber

Although dancer came in at 3rd place, it is the next job on the list which gives an indication of how much of a role social media plays in our lives. There were no less than 195,070 inquiries about how to become a “YouTuber”, making it the most popular option in Uruguay, Mexico, and Chile.
