Celebrities are a very unique type of people. Everything they do is exposed to all, and sometimes, it doesn’t really go hand to hand with their personalities. Some of them love being spotted everywhere they go, taking pictures with fans, and stopping for the paparazzi, but others, well, thats a different story.
Sometimes people can’t handle all the things that come with the celebrity status, and simply disappear from the face of the earth. Here are just a few big Hollywood starts that just vanished from the spotlight:

• At the early age of 13, Stahl starred in “The Man Without A Face” with Mel Gibson, and became one of the most successful child actors in Hollywood. In 2003, Stahl starred as “John Connor” in “Terminator 3”, opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger and Claire Danes. His career was on the rise, when suddenly, he started to lose his focus. He struggled with drugs and alcohol addiction for years, and was even declared missing for a few days in 2012. On June 28,2013, Stahl was taken into custody for alleged substance abuse. His last known acting credits are 2 episodes of “Body of Proof” in 2012.

• Rick Moranis

• Moranis was one of the most successful actors of the 80’s. He starred in classic movies like: Ghostbusters, Little Shot of Horrors, Spaceballs, Honey, I Shrunk The Kids, and The Flintstones, and released 3 studio albums.
  In 1997 Moranis quit acting to take care of his children, after his wife died of breast cancer. “I’m a single parent and I just found that it was too difficult to manage raising my kids and doing the traveling involved in making movies. So I took a little bit of a break. And the little bit of a break turned into a longer break, and then I found that I really didn’t miss it.”

• Jason Mewes

• During the 90’s Jason Mewes was one of the most recognised cult actors in Hollywood. He starred in many Kevin Smith movies such as “Clerks”, “Mallrats” & “Dogma”. After filming “Mallrats”, Mewes became addicted to heroin. In 1999, A warrant for his arrest was issues by the police, which caused Mewes to disappear off the grid. For many years, Mewes whereabouts were unknown, causing people to believe he died alone from an overdose. After his mother’s death in 2002, Mewes resurfaced and turned himself in to police officers in New Jersey.

• Margot Kidder

• The Canadian actress is probably best known for her role as Lois Lane in the first “Superman” movie. Through the years, Kidder’s been very open about her struggle with bipolar disorder. Her worst episode occurred in 1996, when her manager reported her missing after she missed a flight. She was found four days later in the bushes of a Los Angeles residential building, wearing ragged clothes and covered in bruises. Police officers described her state as “hysterical”. In 2007, Kidder stated that her mental health was never better, and that her last episode occurred 11 years ago.

• Mara Wilson

• Mara Wilson was one of the most successful child actors of the 90’s, Best known for playing “Matilda”. Mara quit acting not long after that, saying: “Acting is not very fun. Doing the same thing over and over again until, in the director’s eyes, you ‘get it right,’ does not allow for very much creative freedom”

• Macaulay Culkin

• Caulking, started out in small family movies, until he got his big break in “Home Alone”. Overnight, Culkin became one of the most recognisable kids on the planet.
  With more than 8 blockbuster movies on his resume, Macaulay decided to take a break from acting.
  Now, he is busy playing with his band “The Pizza Underground”, and dating the “All My Children” actress Jordan Lane Price.

• After starring in the critically acclaimed “The Sixth Sense”, and “Lost and Delirious”, Mischa joined the hit teen drama “The O.C.”. After 3 season on the show, Mischa decided to leave and focus on her film career. After her departure, Mischa’s career took a turn to the worse, her movies flopped at the box office, and she started to suffer from a series of legal problems, resulting in two misdemeanours and DUI charges.

• Dave Chappelle

• Dave Chappelle was one of the most successful comedians of the early 00’s. After finishing his most successful year in show business, Chappelle decided to leave everything and take a trip to South Africa. “Coming here, i don’t have the distractions of fame”, he said, “It quiets the ego down. I’m interested in the kind of person i’ve got to become. I want to be well rounded and the industry is a place of extremes”.

Celebrities like to travel a lot. Usually when they do, they pay a lot of money and end up in some resort on an island or a very expensive hotel suite. They usually bring a lot of suitcases, dress fancy and enjoy the parties and the jet set.  You would be surprised to find out that some celebrities are actually into adventure travel. They don’t care about expensive places, luxurious locations or a glamorous lifestyle. They prefer the adventure, the hikes, the jungles, the new cultures and new foods.

Margot Robbie went learning how to surf in San Juan del Sur at Chicabrava Surf Reatreat. Taylor Swift went hanging out with kangaroo in Australia. Elon Musk went wing walking. Diplo took a dip with friends at the Twin Falls in Maui while Katy Perry went hinking in Machu Picchu. Channing Tatum took advantage of the movie

Running Wild with Bear Grylls to go trekking 13 miles through the Sierra National Forest. Who knew celebrities could be so adventurous!

When people mentioned Kubrick’s “The Shining”, you can be sure it’ll be followed with a remark on Jack Nicholson outstanding performance. It seems that everyone’s forgetting the phenomenal performance of Shelly Devall, as iconic Wendy Torrance. Movie-savvies will claim that the movie wouldn’t be as successful and appreciated if Duvall’s performance was cut out of it. 

So how Wendy Torrance did came to life in such vivid way?

Stanley Kubrick, the director of “The Shining” insisted on Duvall, although many were against it, including Stephen King himself (the book’s author), who once said that he thought of the character as a blonde cheerleader. Even today King dislikes the director’s interpretation of the characters, saying it’s ”One of the most misogynistic characters ever put on film. She’s basically just there to scream and be stupid and that’s not the woman that I wrote about.”

Jack Nicholson said in the documentary “Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures”, that while Kubrick was a great director, he was different when it came to Duvall. Kubrick kept her isolated while being warm and close to the cast and crew, canceled many of her lines, and not to speak of the 127 (!!!) takes of the famous ‘baseball bat’ scene. Her crying, puffy eyes were very much genuine. Duvall admitted once “From May until October I was really in and out of ill health because the stress of the role was so great. Stanley pushed me and prodded me further than I’ve ever been pushed before. It’s the most difficult role I’ve ever had to play”.

Furthermore, Kubrick’s daughter said she once heard him say on the set “Don’t sympathize with Shelley”. While keeps telling her she keeps wasting everyone’s time on the set, crew member were directed to ignore her and not to praise her work. The production took 500 days, with Duvall crying 12 hours on a daily basis for her role they had to keep water bottles at hand to keep her hydrated.

Nicholson commented on Duvall’s performance, saying: “the toughest job any actor that I’ve seen”.

 

Because of the famous film scene, October 3 is known as “Mean Girls Day”. The scene “Mean Girls” is: “On October 3 asked me what day it was,” said Cady Heron, the character of Lindsay Lohan, with a voice of applause Aaron Samuels. 

“It’s October 3rd,” she told Aaron. Since then, the scene has become a reference to the meme- and pop culture. Lindsay Lohan “tries so hard” for a sequel to “Mean Girls”

It is therefore logical that the people behind “Mean Girls” on Broadway chose October 3 as the first day of advance sale, with Fey on hand. The veterinarian “SNL” adapted the story of this scenario by hand. Fey, who also played the role of the teacher in the movie, delivered Sweetery Fries from a food truck. ”Mean Girls” fans waiting to buy tickets at August Wilson Theater in the evening.

Cheese chips, of course, are a reference to the classic line of Regina George in the film: “Whatever! I am getting the cheese chips”

It is not known how long Fey stayed on the truck, but the fans have at least cheese chips at Union Square West between the roads 16 and 17 at 3:30 pm. The truck made an earlier stop in the 43rd Street between 7 and 8 avenues.

The show begins previews at the August Wilson Theater on Broadway on March 12, 2018, and will make its world premiere at the National Theater in Washington, DC. 

Pop singer Demi Lovato went on stage at the Democratic National Convention, and gave an emotional and brave speech about mental Illnesses. The celebrity singer had already admitted in the past of having bipolar disorder as well as eating disorders. Lovato openly shared her personal story and spoke of the need of politician who understand and support this kind of suffering.

“I stand here today as proof that you can live a normal and empowered life with mental illness. I’m proud to support a presidential candidate who will fight to ensure all people living with mental health conditions get the care they need to live fulfilling lives.”

Lovato is a Hillary Clinton supporter, after publicly announced it at a performance in Iowa last January. Clinton had comment in the past on her support to Lovato and the issue of mental illness itself.

Former reality star and current who-knows-what Paris Hilton told a Spanish newspaper she is afraid that she could be a target for ISIS. “I’m constantly moving around from one country to another, and I’m a famous person who could be a definite target for an attack, and that is something that sometimes terrifies me,” Hilton told Diario de Ibiza.

Unless ISIS considers sex tapes from the early 2000’s and movies like House of Wax to be the basis for high profile targets, Paris doesn’t have a lot to worry about.

But whether the ISIS threat against Paris is real or not, she is determined not to let it ruin her life sunbathing and… let’s say DJing at parties for washed up reality stars. “I’m also a very free person who tries not to be afraid of anything. I just make sure I always watch my back. I always go out alone and without security,” she added. “Many celebs have 10 bodyguards but I like to go out with my friends and be normal because I want to be like everyone else. Punch Drunk Love

Adam Sandler’s 2002 film is a romance, which is a stray away from his usual goofy stuff. He plays Barry Egan, a guy who’s a bit lost in life and has a pretty overbearing family. After a series of unfortunate events (no seriously, we’re not just referencing that movie), he picks up a stranger, a certain Hermoine Granger. Well not her, but Emma Watson.

It was a great flick; even critics like Roger Ebert gave it praise. On Sandler’s performance in his review for the Chicago Sun Times he was quoted saying, “Sandler, liberated from the constraints of formula, reveals unexpected depths as an actor.” Sandler went on to win Best Actor at the Gijon International Film Festival for his performance and was also nominated for a Golden Globe.  

Funny People

This one’s got a treasure trove of stars. Directed by Judd Apatow, it features Sandler of course, along with Leslie Mann and Seth Rogan. The film was released on July 31, 2009 and received generally positive reviews, with critics praising the script, the direction and the performances of Sandler and Rogen, although criticism was directed towards the film’s excessive runtime. 

It takes a slightly personal route, in that all of the comedians in the film are actually playing comedians in the film. Whoa…

The Wedding Singer

A classic! Sandler plays a washed up wedding singer who, after getting dumped at the altar, has quite the broken heart. I mean, wouldn’t you? Then, he meets a beautiful catering waitress at a wedding, and falls madly in love. She really turns his world around but there’s one catch- she’s not exactly available. 

The film was produced by Robert Simonds for $18 million and grossed $80.2 million in the United States and $123.3 million worldwide.

50 First Dates

Six years after their roles in The Wedding Singer, Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler reunited in this heartwarming movie. Barrymore plays a woman with short term memory loss, and when she goes on a date with Sandler, a veterinarian, she can’t remember him the next day. 

Prompting them to go on a few first dates, fifty of them to be exact. If you haven’t seen this movie yet, do so now. Its even got a penguin in it!

Happy Gilmore    

This movie will make you laugh so hard you might actually pee your pants. Sandler plays Happy Gilmore, a hockey obsessed fan who loves only one thing more than he does the ice sport: his grandma. So to help her reclaim her house after the bank takes it away, Gilmore switches from the hockey rink to the golf course to compete for a cash prize in a tournament.

Bob Barker, the legendary host of Wheel of Fortune, even makes a guest appearance! The film was released in cinemas on February 16, 1996 by Universal Pictures. Happy Gilmore was a commercial success, earning $41.2 million on a $12 million budget. 

Air Heads

This 1994 flick has Sandler, Brendan Frasier and Steve Buscemi as a band of loser musicians who stage a hijacking of a radio station in order to get airplay for their demo recording.

Their names are the best part of the movie: Pip, Rex and Chazz. Joe Mantegna, Michael McKean, Ernie Hudson and Michael Richards play supporting roles.

Bedtime Stories

A more recent film, Bedtime Stories is an American family-fantasy-comedy film that showcases Sandler in his first appearance in a family-oriented movie. 

Despite receiving generally negative reviews from critics, it was a box office success after earning $212.9 million against a $80 million budget. In the movie, Sandler play Skeeter Bronson, a hotel handyman who can make his bedtime stories come to life.

Don’t Mess with the Zohan

This is movie where Sandler lets out his crazier side. In this movie he portrays The Zohan, an Israeli Mossad agent who comes to New York City undercover, hiding from people who want him dead. His cover? A hairdresser of course.

 

The Zohan works at a beauty salon and transforms women’s hair and live (he also takes them to bed). If you haven’t watched this movie yet, prepare for some really hilarious moments. 

Hotel Transylvania

This 2012 Sony Productions movie won hearts young and old. In the aftermath of the death of Dracula’s wife Martha, Count Dracula (Sandler) builds a massive five-star hotel in Transylvania in which he raises his daughter Mavis (played by Selena Gomez).

The hotel serves as a safe-place for the world’s monsters to gather without fear of human persecution. This film was such a hit with audiences that a sequel, Hotel Transylvania: 2 was released quickly afterwards!

 

After more than half a century on the road, English singer, pianist, and composer Elton John has announced via an exclusive VR180 Live Stream on YouTube, details of his final tour called ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’. In the Live Stream, Elton revealed the tour would take 3 years to complete, beginning in Pennsylvania in September of 2018. Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour will consist of more than 300 shows across five continents, hitting North America, Europe and the Middle East, Asia, South America and Australasia before reaching its conclusion in 2021.

Elton revealed, “After the tour finishes, I’m very much looking forward to closing off that chapter of my life by saying farewell to life on the road. I need to dedicate more time to raising my children.”

The outspoken LGBT rights advocate said he still intends to to record albums, write music, produce movies and write musicals, and may “never retire”. Elton’s health scare in the previous year “played into his decision” to step back from touring.

This one’s got a treasure trove of stars. Directed by Judd Apatow, it features Sandler of course, along with Leslie Mann and Seth Rogan. The film was released on July 31, 2009 and received generally positive reviews, with critics praising the script, the direction and the performances of Sandler and Rogen, although criticism was directed towards the film’s excessive runtime. 

It takes a slightly personal route, in that all of the comedians in the film are actually playing comedians in the film. Whoa…

The Wedding Singer

A classic! Sandler plays a washed up wedding singer who, after getting dumped at the altar, has quite the broken heart. I mean, wouldn’t you? Then, he meets a beautiful catering waitress at a wedding, and falls madly in love. She really turns his world around but there’s one catch- she’s not exactly available. 

The film was produced by Robert Simonds for $18 million and grossed $80.2 million in the United States and $123.3 million worldwide.

50 First Dates

Six years after their roles in The Wedding Singer, Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler reunited in this heartwarming movie. Barrymore plays a woman with short term memory loss, and when she goes on a date with Sandler, a veterinarian, she can’t remember him the next day. 

Prompting them to go on a few first dates, fifty of them to be exact. If you haven’t seen this movie yet, do so now. Its even got a penguin in it!

Happy Gilmore    

This movie will make you laugh so hard you might actually pee your pants. Sandler plays Happy Gilmore, a hockey obsessed fan who loves only one thing more than he does the ice sport: his grandma. So to help her reclaim her house after the bank takes it away, Gilmore switches from the hockey rink to the golf course to compete for a cash prize in a tournament.

Bob Barker, the legendary host of Wheel of Fortune, even makes a guest appearance! The film was released in cinemas on February 16, 1996 by Universal Pictures. Happy Gilmore was a commercial success, earning $41.2 million on a $12 million budget. 

Air Heads

This 1994 flick has Sandler, Brendan Frasier and Steve Buscemi as a band of loser musicians who stage a hijacking of a radio station in order to get airplay for their demo recording.

Their names are the best part of the movie: Pip, Rex and Chazz. Joe Mantegna, Michael McKean, Ernie Hudson and Michael Richards play supporting roles.

Bedtime Stories

A more recent film, Bedtime Stories is an American family-fantasy-comedy film that showcases Sandler in his first appearance in a family-oriented movie. 

Despite receiving generally negative reviews from critics, it was a box office success after earning $212.9 million against a $80 million budget. In the movie, Sandler play Skeeter Bronson, a hotel handyman who can make his bedtime stories come to life.

Don’t Mess with the Zohan

This is movie where Sandler lets out his crazier side. In this movie he portrays The Zohan, an Israeli Mossad agent who comes to New York City undercover, hiding from people who want him dead. His cover? A hairdresser of course.

 

The Zohan works at a beauty salon and transforms women’s hair and live (he also takes them to bed). If you haven’t watched this movie yet, prepare for some really hilarious moments. 

Hotel Transylvania

This 2012 Sony Productions movie won hearts young and old. In the aftermath of the death of Dracula’s wife Martha, Count Dracula (Sandler) builds a massive five-star hotel in Transylvania in which he raises his daughter Mavis (played by Selena Gomez).

The hotel serves as a safe-place for the world’s monsters to gather without fear of human persecution. This film was such a hit with audiences that a sequel, Hotel Transylvania: 2 was released quickly afterwards!

 

After more than half a century on the road, English singer, pianist, and composer Elton John has announced via an exclusive VR180 Live Stream on YouTube, details of his final tour called ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’. In the Live Stream, Elton revealed the tour would take 3 years to complete, beginning in Pennsylvania in September of 2018. Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour will consist of more than 300 shows across five continents, hitting North America, Europe and the Middle East, Asia, South America and Australasia before reaching its conclusion in 2021.

Elton revealed, “After the tour finishes, I’m very much looking forward to closing off that chapter of my life by saying farewell to life on the road. I need to dedicate more time to raising my children.”

The outspoken LGBT rights advocate said he still intends to to record albums, write music, produce movies and write musicals, and may “never retire”. Elton’s health scare in the previous year “played into his decision” to step back from touring.

The star confessed, “My body isn’t invincible, I have to respect it and treat it more kindly, and chopping out those air miles can’t hurt.” Elton has teased his fans about about his upcoming tour costumes. For the farewell tour costumes, which are exclusively designed by Gucci’s Alessandro Michele, the 71-year-old happily referenced his style throughout his career. “I’ve kept an archive of my stage costumes from the very beginning of my career and thought it would be fun to open up my little treasure chest with Alessandro and his design team,” he revealed.

“Performing live fuels me and I’m ecstatic and humbled to continue to play to audiences across the globe. I plan to bring the passion and creativity that has entertained my fans for decades to my final tour.”
